Limits, plainly

Free and rate limited so it stays fast for everyone. Loop over longer lists 50 domains at a time. For 100,000-domain lists, CSV export and a monitor mode that returns only changed domains, the Linkheft tool on the Apify Store does the same lookups in bulk.

• Up to 50 domains, URLs or emails per call; 10 calls a minute per IP on the free tier.
• Free tier: 1,000 domain lookups a day per IP, no key. Paid keys from $19/month (see Get an API key).
• Each domain in a call counts as one lookup (duplicates in the same call count once). Failed calls are not counted.
• Data: Common Crawl web graph cc-main-2026-jul-aug-sep (133,241,980 domains, top 10 million kept) + Majestic Million 2026-09-23; refreshed when a new web graph ships (about every 3-4 months).
• Authority is a transparent log-scale of the open web-graph rank, not Moz DA or Ahrefs DR; use it to compare and sort sites.

How the price compares

Per domain looked up, at full use of each plan. Rival list prices were read from their public pricing pages on 29 Sep 2026.

Moz DA, Ahrefs DR and DataForSEO rank come from their own crawlers and link indexes; Linkheft scores the open Common Crawl web graph plus the Majestic Million, and says so. OpenPageRank is also built on Common Crawl; Linkheft adds the Majestic referring subnets and IPs, the PageRank rank, host counts and the trend between two web-graph releases in the same answer.

Scoring 100,000 domains, or watching a list?

Linkheft on the Apify Store runs the same lookups on lists of any size, exports CSV/Excel, and has a monitor mode that returns only the domains whose score, rank or tier changed since the last run. Pay per ranked domain; unranked and invalid ones are free.

Domain metric APIs charge per domain: Moz API $20/month for 3,000 rows ($6.67 per 1,000) and $125/month for 50,000 ($2.50 per 1,000); DataForSEO backlink summaries about $0.024 each; Ahrefs API only inside plans from $129/month; OpenPageRank is free for 30,000 domains a month (checked 29 Sep 2026). Linkheft matches OpenPageRank's free allowance with 1,000 free lookups a day and adds Majestic referring subnets, PageRank rank and 4-month trend: Prospector $19/month for 100,000 domain lookups ($0.19 per 1,000), or $5 pay-as-you-go for 25,000 that never expire.
